A Little “folding” Money

Or should I say, a little money folding?

I was invited to a very special baby shower.  Some friends of ours got to bring their newly adopted baby girl home a few days ago.  She is precious and blessed.  God’s hands have been all over this family from the beginning.  You can read about it here.

The invitation to the shower presented a challenge. “bring a creatively unwrapped gift”  How in the world do you do that???  My first thought was a money tree, but then it evolved into something more :)

I made tissue paper flowers and sticky tak’d butterflies made out of $$$ to the flowers.  (you can learn the coolest stuff from the internet, even origami)

I was wondering if I chose the right color of flowers, because the pot I used had red on it.  I didn’t choose the correct colors;  God did.  I was so surprised when I walked into the shower and my gift matched the decorations.  Blue, purple and lime green are also the colors of the nursery.

I wish I could say I was being super spiritual while I was doing this project, but I can’t.  I actually made a white flower and a pink flower but I didn’t like the way they turned out, so I ended up with the blue, purple, & green.

This tells me God is into details.  Things we think are insignificant, He will use to tell us He loves us.  Don’t confine God to things you think are “big & important”, invite Him into the small stuff too.  God wants to be involved in our “everyday”.

Thanks for reading : )

If He knows the number of hairs on my head and tells me to come to Him in everything with thanksgiving and prayer, I trust that He is in all the details. And in so many times it is through "coincidences" and things that no one else knows. I am glad that God is in the miracle making business! And I am glad that He showed Himself to you through YOUR giving. :)

That is the cutest thing I've ever seen. I've never seen $$ made into a butterfly before. Very good job. And it sounds like a very sweet day was had by all. : )

I'm not so creative. And unfortunately have no desire to try to be. lol I wonder what I could be missing . . .???

Becky, Thanks for your post. I love how you bring it all back to God, giving HIM the glory. You are a dear sweet mom and I love your heart. God is good all the time. He loves us, sees us, hears us and cares for us and it feels SO GOOD when we recognize that and praise him for it. Hugs to you,Amy

Becky this was a brilliant creation! Loved the origami money.

At Mona: YOU ARE CREATIVE. If the Creator of the universe lives in you, what does that make you? You may not be creative in the arts, but consider everything else you do. The way you play with Jaeli, the way you do your job, schedule people for ministry, etc etc. Creativity is a muscle. The more the use it, the stronger it will become. We need to learn to curate creativity. :)
