Yeah, my man shot us a deer with his bow and arrow.
We do eat venison on a regular basis. I have to admit I only eat it if it has been ground up for chili, spaghetti, lasagne, tacos, etc. Tom likes to “chicken fry” his. He usually does this for himself when I am out with friends. ‘Cause he loves me. :)
It has been easier this year; Tom hunting without Peyton. Of course it is not the same. Tom got great joy teaching Peyton how to hunt and spending time together in the woods. No matter what the situation, our focus on the positive is imperative to joyful living.
Hope the picture didn’t gross you out too much.

nope, not gross. i only don't care for hunting if the person doesn't eat the meat.
i prefer my venison ground. but sometimes it's not too bad as a steak... but chicken fried steak would be even better!
focus on the positive. i have to do that a lot. man oh man, christian has been on my mind and heart so much lately. and it's always in the little everyday things... like going to the grocery store and looking at the samples in the bakery section. :) he always loved running around and finding cookies, breads and tortillas to taste! i am so thankful for those little moments that we had together. they make life richer.
I am so used to pictures like that. My dad, brothers, and nephews hunt. Congrats on the deer! I need to focus on the positives in my life as well.
Congratulations to Tom on getting his deer!
You are so right Becky about how our focus needs to be on the postive (true, honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable)... for joyful living. What hard work it is, but worth it!
Nope.. as long as you eat it! : )
I'm glad your hubby could enjoy that sport a little more this year... and bring home something for the freezer too! I hear its supposed to be really lean and good for you.
I don't mind deer meat! I use it ground alot but I also really like it for stew! Instead of beef stew I use deer meat and you can't even tell the difference! I am hoping to go hunting this year with Trent, I got my license but we'll see if I actually get one! :)
You're awesome Beck! That message is true for ALL of us ALL the time!
Nate and I like deer meat...i think because we clean and package our own..seems to taste better that way! :)
If Tom ever needs a hunting buddy Nate would love to go! :)
